Effective Load Carrying Capability of Wind Generation: Initial Results with Public Data

For wind power generation to count toward resource adequacy requirements there must be a method to account for the intermittent output production profile of this technology. This article reviews recent work on how to measure the capacity value of wind generation and demonstrates the principal sensitivities underlying calculations of this type.
