Endogenous growth and multiplicity due to finite patents’ lifetime

Using a discrete-time model of endogenous growth with product quality improvements, inspired from Grossman and Helpman (1991), we show that assuming a finite lifetime for patents, instead of the usual infinitely lived ones, induces macroeconomic complementarities that may lead to three stationary equilibria.
