A bivariate zero-inflated negative binomial regression model for count data with excess zeros

This paper proposes a bivariate zero-inflated negative binomial regression model for count data with excess zeros, and provides an estimation method based on the EM and quasi-Newton algorithms. An application to the analysis of health-care utilization is given.
