Public good provision in legislatures: the dynamics of enlargements

This paper analyzes the effects of legislature enlargements on public good provision in a repeated game. We find that enlargements induce two countervailing effects on the legislatureʹs ability to yield efficient outcomes. Cooperation, though, necessarily breaks down in large legislatures
