Abstract
A simple model for the rapid estimation of pressure drop in horizontal two phase flow is presented. The model is based on the pressure drop data obtained during the co-current flow of air-water mixture in a horizontal polycarbonate tubing. Holdup calculations are made by Hughmark correlation. The proposed model simply relates the total pressure drop to the defined friction factor and no-slip velocity. This simple model is found to be in good agreement with other experimental data for horizontal two phase slug flow of air-water mixtures in pipes.
