Abstract :
In order to evaluate and upgrade the capabilities of equations of state (EOS), an integrated graphics data base package, EOS TAILOR, has been developed. At present, EOS TAILOR is capable of evaluating the performance and upgrading the accuracy of the Soave-Redlich-Kwong, Peng-Robinsun and PFGC-MES equations of state. EOS TAILOR uses the specified EOS to predict pure component properties such as vapor pressure, saturated vapor volume, saturated liquid density, and heat of vaporization. It can also be used lo perform binary and multicomponent equilibrium calculations such as a bubble point, dew point or equilibrium flash. For all cases, the results are compared with the experimental data and the errors computed. The error analyses are presented both numerically and graphically. The optimized acentric factors and PFGC-MES parameters for several components have been determined and are presented. The interaction coefficient parameters for several binary mixtures are also presented. Sample graphical error analyses are shown.
