Abstract :
Using a modular program for the calculation of two-phase flow pressure drop in a single pipe, a general computer code has been developed which can simulate a two-phase fluid flow pipes network. Due to the inability of conventional network analysis algorithms for two-phase flow, a network analysis algorithm has also been devised. Using the conservation of mass and energy, results of reported experimental studies at pipes junction, and the physical behavior of two-phase flow in various configurations, the highly nonlinear equations of the system are set up and solved by a Newton-Raphson iterative scheme.
