Abstract :
Solid-state cells are fabricated using the best conducting compositions found in two different mixed systems, namely, CuI-Ag3PO4 and CuI-Ag4P2O7. The discharge and polarization studies of these cells are examined. The open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current density exhibited by the two prototype systems are 639 and 635 mV and 1.2 and 2 mA cm−2 respectively. The discharge and polarization studies indicate that the best conducting compositions, for the two systems, i.e., (CuI)0.5-(Ag3PO4)0.5 and (CuI)0.55-(Ag4P2O7)0.45, respectively, would act as promising solid electrolytes based on Ag+-ion migration. This is because of their excellent physical properties.
