Abstract :
The bifurcation analysis of a bilayered sheet between rigid surfaces under biaxial loading (Alcaraz et al., 1997) is continued here by considering the stability analysis of the emerging undulations near the interface in the spacially periodic mode. Assuming an initial perturbation along the interface, conditions preventing the growth of this perturbation are studied. With this aim, a stability parameter is introduced. The influence on this parameter of the geometric and material variables is discussed in detail. It is also shown that stability strongly depends on the constitutive model assumed in the computations.
