Abstract :
Competitive chelation method may be used to determine or examine the solubility product of a mineral. This method has the advantage of being independent of chemical conditions of the system. Direct and competitive chelation methodʹs as well as XRD analysis were employed to examine the solubility product, and mineralogical identity and purity of two PbCO3 samples. One of these samples has been used as the pure cerussite mineral for controlling activityʹ, of Pb^2+ in several studies. Both direct and competitive chelation method indicated that log Ksp value of -13.5 previously chosen for cerussite is smaller than its actual value. A mean value of -13.33 from direct method and an average value of-12.75 from chelation studies were obtained for log Ksp of two PbCOs samples. The XRD results indicated that one of the samples contains hydrocerussite as an impurity. depots was significantly reduced in the salbutamol group. Carcass fat content was decreased but carcass protein content was increased in salbutamol fed guinea pigs. Carcass moisture content was not affected by treatment. Serum levels of lipase, glucose, cholesterol and triacyiglycerols were increased by salbutamol. Results of this experiment demonstrated that salbutamol affected carcass composition of guinea pigs in a manner similar to the activity of a number of beta-adrenergic agonists in several mammalian and avian species. The results also support the view that effects of beta-adrenergic agonists on carcass composition is a general property of these agents, and are applicable to a wider range of animal species. depots was significantly reduced in the salbutamol group.
