Small bowel obstruction caused by a solitary metastasis from carcinoma of the breast

Solitary gastrointestinal metastases from breast cancers are rare and are diagnosed late. This paper describes a small bowel breast metastasis discovered at laparotomy for small bowel obstruction. A higher index of clinical suspicion in these cases may lead to earlier detection and improved patient outcome.
