Abstract :
The short-form Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory was completed by 166 year four, year five and year six pupils, together with the short-form Revised Junior Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. The data demonstrate that high self-esteem was associated with social conforming, tendermindedness, extraversion, emotional stability and with being male. These findings question whether Coopersmithʹs model of selfesteem is being fair to females and to introverts.
