Abstract
The fundamental equation of daylighting links the daylight illuminance of a surface with the sky luminance distribution. The key element in the equation is the ʹdaylight coefficientʹ function. This indicates the sensitivity of illummance to changes in the sky luminance distribution. Examples are given for mean and point illuminances in a room.
