Abstract :
It is quite obvious that solar photovoltaic (PV) pumping has been recently practised on a large scale in different countries and regions all over the world. For example, according to much of the data [1,2] presented for the last decade about 10,000 solar pump units of such kind have been installed around the world, and there is a tendency to increase their sales on the world market which is being kept nowadays. There is no doubt that the analysis of technical, economic and ecological aspects of solar PV pumping application is of great scientific and practical interest) and each non-ordinary case of solar pump application is worth paying particular attention. The present paper describes a principle diagram, lists the technical data of the used equipment and instruments and offers the discussion of the first results of the developed solar PV pumping system operation as well. It is used to supply cold water at the zero level to the roof of the International Energy Foundation (IEF) fivestoried administrative building where the solar hot water units are placed. Such a complex use of the solar energy for PV pumping and water healing can be recommended for arid and waterless areas off Africa and Asia. It is common knowledge that these regions, as a rule, are poor in conventional energy sources, such as coal, oil and gas, but at the same time there is an abundance of solar energy due to both relatively high average annual solar radiation and the ambient air temperature.
