Abstract :
Due to pain from infected 12 per cent TBSA flame injuries a 71-year-old female was treated with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (diclofenac), thereby inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, and developed transient impairment of renal function. This case report indicates that prostaglandins may be required to modulate the late responses after burns or other major trauma, especially when infected.
