Abstract :
A patient developed infective endocarditis caused by Campylobacter fetus. He gave a history of recent dental extraction and allogeneic tooth transplantation. He was treated with various antibiotics to which the organism was said to be sensitive, but it was not until the transplanted tooth was removed that he started to improve. The mode of infection was thought to be blood borne through the open tooth socket from the raw chicken that he ate regularly.
