Plunging ranula as a complication of intraoral removal of a submandibular sialolith

Mucous cysts in the submandibular region – so-called ʹplungingʹ ranula – are relatively uncommon. We report a case of a plunging ranula that complicated excision of an intraductal sialolith of the submandibular gland.
