The “skinny aorta”

This article reviews the imaging findings of focal narrowing of the descending thoracic and/or abdominal aorta and stresses the clinical manifestations that may help differentiate specific entities. Various entities including coarctation of the aorta, Takayasuʹs arteritis, neurofibromatosis, radiation therapy, and infantile hemangioendothelioma are discussed and key differential points are emphasized.
