Abstract :
While verbal memory has been studied frequently in Anterior Communicating Artery amnesics, relatively fewer studies have examined the nature of visual memory processes in this population. This study examined Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test performance in 10 amnesic ACoA subjects along with 10 matched healthy controls. The most salient finding to emerge was the profound loss of information exhibited by the ACoA group between the copy and immediate conditions, despite copy scores that were within normal limits. These results might be attributable to inadequate encoding, impaired consolidation, or accelerated rates of forgetting.
