Influence of annealing on TLD-100 response to 5.3 MeV α-particles

The possible effect of the annealing atmosphere on the TL response of TLD-100 irradiated with 5.3 MeV α-particles has been investigated, finding no effect on the sensitivity or the glow curve shape after thermally treating the chips in air or in He. The relative contribution of peak 3 to the total TL signal is found to be 45% smaller in the first reading after annealing than in the following ones.
