Carrier-free separation of 111In from a silver matrix

A radiochemical procedure for the separation of carrier-free 111In from an Ag matrix is described. 111In is produced by the bombardment of a natural Ag target by α-particles. The method involves the removal of bulk silver by chloride precipitation followed by anion exchange separation of the 111In from the trace amount of Ag still present after chloride precipitation.
