Estimation of breast radiation dose in a mammographic system

Dose estimates have been made for mamammographic system using Kodak Min-R film in combination with a Kodak Min-R screen and grid. A molybdenum target source with molybdenum filtration at half-value layers of 0.34 and 0.36 mm Al was used for the film-screen measurements. Depth-dose curves in a Plexiglass phantom were then used to estimate mean whole breast dose and mean glandular dose in BR12 material using the necessary corrections.
