Epimerization of 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-glucose under basic conditions. A convenient method for the preparation of 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-mannose

2-Deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-mannose, which was conveniently prepared by epimerization of 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoroglucose under base-catalysed conditions, was utilised to validate a HPLC protocol routinely used in establishing the isomeric purity of 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-glucose.
