Brackish and seawater pretreatment using an ultrafiltration hydrofilic® membrane

The hydrofilic® membrane has been a substantial amount of success removing BOD and oil from industrial waste and process. This technology is now being offered for pretreatment prior to typical BWRO and SWRO systems. The product has the potential of recovering BW and SWRO plant and operating costs when processing surface feed water. Testing and performance data will be presented to verify the results necessary for it to be a viable product. Other tests will also be discussed which deal with waste water BOD reduction and its ability to reject protein and other organic material.
