Abstract
A new method is reported for the activity measurement of 198Au in gold foils. The coincidence counting equations are examined. From these the experimental conditions necessary to ensure accurate results are obtained. These conditions are achieved by careful choice of NaI(Tl) crystals and γ-ray absorbers. The uncertainty components amounted to 0.15% for type A and 0.3% for type B.
