Abstract
Copper and iron hexacyanoferrate form a continuous series of substitutional solid solutions, which have been studied by solid-state electrochemistry, X-ray powder diffraction, IR and ESR spectroscopy. All methods unambiguously prove the formation of solid solutions. The results show the different capabilities of these techniques to study such systems. Especially in the case of poor crystallinity and strongly magnetically interacting metal ions, voltammetry of immobilized microparticles offers a powerful tool for the determination of the composition and properties of solid solutions.
