Abstract :
Intercalates of vanadyl and niobyl phosphates with 1,2-butanediol, 1,3-butanediol, 2,3-butanediol, 1,4-butanediol, cis-2butene-1,4-diol, and 2-butyne-1,4-diol were prepared and characterized by XRD, TGA, and IR spectroscopy. Their thermal stability and stability in air were studied by XRD. Intercalates of both hosts with 1,4-butanediol and cis-2-butene-1,4-diol change into relatively stable phases with lower basal spacing during heating. VOPO4 intercalated with 1,3-butanediol forms a Hendricks–Teller disordered structure in a wide temperature range.
