Nasal endoscopy in chronic/recurring sinusitis

One hundred cases of chronic/recurring sinusitis cases were studied endoscopically with 0° (4 mm) rigid endoscopes in combination with conventional X-ray and computed tomography to reveal the exact nature of pathology which were sometimes not possible by our routine examination. After identification of the cause, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) was performed for cure and relief of symptoms. Messerklingerʹs technique was followed with good results and with minimum surgical trauma. Their results were correlated. Complications with possible management and long term results were discussed.
