ON-LINE PHYSICAL PARAMETER ESTIMATION WITH ADAPTIVE FORGETTING FACTORS

An on-line (or recursive) parameter estimation scheme based on a physical model is presented. Tracking of time-varying parameters is achieved by the use of a forgetting factor in the standard formulation. A new scheme for adapting the forgetting factor is proposed and validated on time-data from both simulated and experimental systems.
