Reconstruction of non-marginal ear defect by a postauricular wedge transposition flap

A new flap is described for reconstruction of large nonmarginal skin-cartilagenous auricular defects extending from concha to antihelical region after tumour resection: a postauricular ‘wedge’ transposition flap that is harvested in such a way that the donor defect is closed as in case of a small wedge resection, resulting in an additional reduction of the size of the anterior defect of up to 50%.
