Abstract :
During the geomagnetic storm on March 9-12, 1979 (maximum D(st) = 130 nT) simultaneous data on the flux and spectra of energetic electrons with Ee = 0.04- 2.0 MeV, intensity of the electric and magnetic field components of the low-frequency emissions (0.1-20 kHz), and density of the thermal plasma (n(i) = 10(1)-2 x 10(6) cm -3) were obtained on board the lnterkosmos-19 satellite (IK-19). The behavior of all the ionospheric parameters at middle and high latitudes in the evening and nearly-midnight period is considered. The difference in the behavior of boundaries of thermal plasma, low-frequency emissions, and energetic particles is discovered and discussed. During the storm development the boundary of energetic particles is shifted to higher latitudes, and the boundaries of the waves and plasma are shifted to lower latitudes.
