Purpoe To examine acquired pit of the optic nerve a a rik factor for progreion of glaucoma. Method In a retropective longitudinal tudy, 25 open-angle glaucoma patient with acquired pit of the optic nerve were compared with a group of 24 open-angle glaucoma patient without acquired pit of the optic nerve. The patient were matched for age, mean intraocular preure, baeline ratio of neuroretinal rim area to dik area, viual field damage, and duration of follow-up. erial optic dik photograph and viual field of both group were evaluated by three independent oberver for glaucomatou progreion.
