Method
Four patient who have the finding aociated with unilateral peripapillary myelinated nerve fiber are decribed and reviewed.
Reult
All patient had poor viual outcome depite treatment with full cycloplegic refraction and appropriate patching.
Concluion
Although the origin of thi aociation i unknown, we believe that peripapillary myelinated nerve fiber in a unilateral myopic eye may be econdary to an imbalance between the proce of myelination and the formation of the lamina cribroa. Good reult have been reported with amblyopic therapy; however, it i our experience that thee patient are omewhat refractory to amblyopia therapy.
