Purpoe: To improve the technique of deep lamellar keratoplaty. Method: For the recipient eye, a divide-and-conquer technique wa applied to deep lamellar keratoplaty. After trephinization, the recipient cornea within the trephine wa divided into four quadrant to facilitate lamellar diection at approximately 70% depth. Thi procedure of diviion wa continued until the Decemet membrane wa expoed in the central area. The corneal graft wa placed with an adjuted ingle running uture. eventeen eye were treated with thi technique. Reult: In 17 eye of 15 patient, the mean viual acuity 6 month or more after deep lamellar keratoplaty wa 20/52 with eyegla correction and 20/80 without eyegla correction. At 6 month or more after deep lamellar keratoplaty, the mean ± D keratometric atigmatim in 17 eye wa 3.2 ± 2.3 diopter. Concluion: Thi technique facilitate deep lamellar keratoplaty and prevent high or exceive atigmatim after urgery.
