Abstract :
PURPOE: To report a cae of optic nerve head neovacularization in a patient with acquired immunodeficiency yndrome (AID) aociated with inactive cytomegaloviru retiniti and immune recovery. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: We examined a 29-year-old man with AID and inactive cytomegaloviru retiniti and found vitriti and prominent optic nerve head neovacularization. The patient had been treated with revere trancriptae and proteae inhibitor, reulting in a notable rie in CD4+ lymphocyte count and an undetectable human immunodeficiency viru (HIV)-RNA viral load. No caue of neovacularization other than intraocular inflammation wa detected. CONCLUION: Immune recovery in a etting of inactive cytomegaloviru retiniti can reult in optic nerve head neovacularization, a een in our patient.
