Abstract
PURPOE: To decribe bilateral hemorrhage of the poterior egment and econdary angle-cloure glaucoma a equelae of anticoagulation therapy in a nanophthalmic patient.
METHOD: An 80-year-old man who wa nanophthalmic and wa undergoing anticoagulation therapy preented with declining viual acuity in left eye. ix month later, he experienced declining viual acuity in hi right eye.
REULT: In the LE and ix month later in the RE, ocular examination dicloed angle-cloure glaucoma and a hemorrhagic retinal detachment. Peripheral iridoplaty uccefully treated the initial attack. The ubretinal hemorrhage wa uccefully drained by par plana vitrectomy, retinotomy, and air-fluid exchange in the left eye. Anatomic ucce and intraocular preure control were obtained, but viual recovery wa limited.
CONCLUION: Intraocular hemorrhage and angle-cloure glaucoma are potential complication of anticoagulation therapy in a patient with nanophthalmo.
