Abstract
PURPOE: To report angiographic finding of nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy patient by mean of indocyanine green angiography.
METHOD: Forty-two eye (42 patient) with nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy were evaluated by indocyanine green angiography in addition to fluorecein angiography. Angiographic finding with the two imaging technique were compared with the red-free fundu appearance.
REULT: Among the 42 eye, five (12%) had the appearance on indocyanine green angiography of lobular potty hyperfluorecent and hypofluorecent area (“alt and pepper” appearance) in the very late phae. Twenty eye (48%) preented with diffue late-phae hyperfluorecence on indocyanine green angiography, correponding to area of retinal capillary nonperfuion on fluorecein angiography, and retinal edema. A total of 3,564 microaneurym were divided into three type: 58 (1.6%) appeared mainly on the fluorecein angiography and very faintly on the indocyanine green angiography, 3,029 (85%) appeared on the fluorecein angiography and the indocyanine green angiography, and 477 (13.4%) were uniquely hyperfluorecent on the indocyanine green angiography.
CONCLUION: Indocyanine green angiography in patient with nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy dicloed microvacular finding that were in addition to thoe hown on fluorecein angiography. Thee angiographic change were not oberved on fluorecein angiography becaue of imaging limitation. Indocyanine green angiography may be a ueful adjunct to fluorecein angiography in the evaluation of chorioretinal vacular change in nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy.
