Abstract :
PURPOE: To report choroidal neovacularization in a patient with clerochoroidal calcification econdary to hyperparathyroidim.
METHOD: Cae report. Bilateral ocular fundu abnormalitie oberved in a 74-year-old woman were documented with fluorecein angiography and ultraonography.
REULT: Two yellow, irregular, oval placoid leion were oberved in the fundu of each eye. Ultraound examination howed that thee area were extremely onoreflective and exhibited orbital hadowing. In the left eye, one leion wa accompanied by lipid exudate, and ubequent fluorecein angiography dicloed choroidal neovacularization. Medical hitory included hyperparathyroidim treated with urgical exciion of a parathyroid adenoma 27 year earlier.
CONCLUION: Choroidal neovacularization may be a late complication of hyperparathyroidim.
