Abstract :
PURPOE: To report clinical feature and urgical management of neovacular complication aociated with rubeoi iridi and peripheral retinal detachment after retinal detachment urgery in nondiabetic patient. METHOD: even conecutive eye of even nondiabetic patient who developed neovacular complication aociated with rubeoi iridi and peripheral retinal detachment after cleral buckling and vitrectomy procedure were retropectively reviewed. None of the eye had clinical evidence of anterior egment ichemia or retinal vacular dieae, but each eye developed rubeoi iridi and neovacular complication. REULT: Of the even eye with rubeoi iridi and peripheral retinal detachment, ix developed recurrent or progreive vitreou hemorrhage, and three developed progreive neovacular glaucoma. Four eye underwent a reviion procedure to repair the peripheral retinal detachment, and anterior proliferative vitreoretinopathy wa found in each of thee cae. Rubeoi iridi regreed in all three eye in which urgery reulted in complete reattachment of the retina. In one eye with peritent peripheral retinal detachment and in the three remaining eye that did not undergo reviion urgery, rubeoi iridi perited and wa aociated with long-term neovacular complication. Final corrected viual acuity wa 20/70 to 20/400 in three eye with total retinal reattachment and no light perception to hand motion in four eye with peritent peripheral retinal detachment and rubeoi iridi. CONCLUION: Viually ignificant neovacular complication may occur in eye that develop rubeoi iridi aociated with peripheral retinal detachment after retinal detachment urgery in nondiabetic patient. ucceful repair of the peripheral retinal detachment may induce regreion of rubeoi iridi, reduce aociated complication, and improve the long-term prognoi of thee eye.
