A dummy orbit for training in diagnotic procedure and laer urgery with enucleated eye

% %PURPOE: A dummy orbit for enucleated eye wa developed for training reident in diagnotic and urgical procedure. METHOD: Porcine eye were ued to contruct the model. The device i made of black anodized metal. The final prototype wa teted for eae of ue and optical quality. Principal element are an adjutable eye upport, a cylinder, and a removable ring. REULT: The dummy orbit and enucleated eye allow direct and indirect ophthalmocopy; inpection with contact lene, including goniocopy; and retinal laer coagulation uing contact lene. Laer trabeculoplaty, argon laer trabeculotomy, Nd:YAG laer iridectomy, and Nd:YAG laer capulectomy are poible, a well a training in tonometry and ultraonography technique. CONCLUION: The dummy orbit i a valuable aid for teaching and training in diagnotic and laer urgery procedure with nondiected enucleated eye.
