Epithelioid cell pitz nevu of the eyelid

PURPOE: To report a 20-month-old child with a rapidly growing dome-haped red nodule on the left lower eyelid. The leion wa diagnoed clinically a an hemangioma, but microcopy dicloed an epithelioid pitz nevu. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: Hitopathologic examination of the excied leion dicloed a pitz nevu (benign juvenile melanoma) of a chiefly epithelioid cell type. CONCLUION: The differential diagnoi of eyelid kin nodule in children hould include pitz nevu. Thi uncommon nevu ha many cytologic feature in common with nodular malignant melanoma. Hitologically, it may be difficult to ditinguih between nodular malignant melanoma and pitz nevu.
