Lao procedure to revie overcorrection with radial keratotomy

PURPOE: To report three patient who underwent the lao procedure to revie overcorrection with radial keratotomy. METHOD: Cae report and review of the literature. REULT: Four eye of three patient who had undergone radial keratotomy with reultant hyperopic overcorrection underwent a lao procedure. Before the procedure, average cycloplegic refraction pherical equivalent wa +3.656 ± 1.352 diopter, and average manifet refraction pherical equivalent wa +2.250 ± 0.621 diopter. A 10.0 monofilament nylon uture wa placed in a circumferencial manner through the corneal troma and overlapping the old radial keratotomy inciion. At 1 month potoperatively, bet-corrected viual acuity wa 20/20 in all four eye, with average cycloplegic refraction pherical equivalent +0.438 ± 1.423 diopter and average manifet refraction pherical equivalent −0.156 ± 1.147 diopter. Mean delta cycloplegic refraction pherical equivalent wa 3.219 ± 1.724. CONCLUION: The lao procedure provide an immediate olution for ymptomatic overcorrected hyperopic eye after radial keratotomy. Predictability and long-term tability neceitate further follow-up.
