Abstract :
PURPOE: To document the anatomic and functional recovery of the fovea after foveal tranlocation urgery with cleral hortening and imultaneou exciion of a neovacular membrane in a patient with age-related macular degeneration.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: The viual acuity of a 54-year-old woman with age-related macular degeneration improved from 20/200 to 20/50 after exciion of ubretinal neovacular membrane and foveal tranlocation urgery in the right eye. Fixation hifted inferonaally 0.6 dik diameter, correponding to the direction of foveal tranlocation, a hown by canning laer ophthalmocope microperimetry. Potoperative optical coherence tomography through fixation dicloed normal foveal concavity and intact retinal pigment epithelium.
CONCLUION: Anatomic and functional recovery of the fovea wa confirmed in a patient with age-related macular degeneration after foveal tranlocation urgery with cleral hortening and imultaneou exciion of a neovacular membrane.
