Bilateral acute retinal necroi caued by cytomegaloviru in an immunocompromied patient

PURPOE: To report a cae of bilateral acute retinal necroi caued by cytomegaloviru. METHOD: A diagnotic vitrectomy wa performed on a patient with non-Hodgkin lymphoma who preented with a bilateral, rapidly progreing necrotizing retiniti and uveiti. REULT: Immunohitochemical tudie and polymerae chain reaction dicloed cytomegaloviru a the caue of retiniti. The patient wa treated with intravitreal and intravenou ganciclovir. CONCLUION: Although rare, cytomegaloviru may lead to an appearance identical to acute retinal necroi and hould be conidered among the viral etiologie of thi yndrome.
