Bilateral ocular ichemic yndrome econdary to giant cell arteriti progreing depite corticoteroid treatment

PURPOE: To report the development of a bilateral ocular ichemic yndrome depite corticoteroid treatment in a patient with giant cell arteriti. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: Depite receiving high-doe intravenou methylpredniolone and oral prednione for biopy-proven giant cell arteriti that preented a a evere anterior ichemic optic neuropathy in the right eye, a patient developed progreive ocular ichemia in that eye a well a an ocular ichemic yndrome in the fellow eye. CONCLUION: ome patient with giant cell arteriti, poibly patient with other underlying ytemic vaculopathie, are refractory to what hould be adequate treatment with ytemic corticoteroid and may develop a bilateral ocular ichemic yndrome.
