Abstract :
PURPOE: To document and tudy the cro-ectional tructure of polypoidal element uing optical coherence tomography in eye with idiopathic polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy. METHOD: Optical coherence tomography image of two eye with idiopathic polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy were correlated with lit-lamp biomicrocopic finding, fundu photograph, fluorecein angiogram, and indocyanine green angiogram. REULT: Cro-ectional optical coherence tomographic image of retinochoroidal tructure howed prominent anterior protruion of the orange ubretinal ma correponding to the polypoidal tructure in the indocyanine green angiogram. Hemorrhagic detachment of the retinal pigment epithelium wa contiguou with the cone-haped nodule beneath the retinal pigment epithelium in one eye, and an apparent dicontinuity wa oberved in the highly reflective layer that delineate the polypoidal tructure. CONCLUION: ome of the polypoidal tructure in eye with idiopathic polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy are anteriorly protruding leion in the inner choroid that may caue eroanguineou detachment of the retinal pigment epithelium through damage of the overlying Bruch membrane, retinal pigment epithelium, and the adheion between them. Cro-ectional optical coherence tomographic image may increae undertanding of the pathophyiology of idiopathic polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy.
