Abstract
PURPOE: To determine choroidal involvement in preumed tuberculou poterior uveiti by examining indocyanine green angiographic feature.
METHOD: Indocyanine green angiography wa performed according to a tandard uveiti angiographic protocol in eight conecutive patient (15 eye) with preumed poterior tuberculou uveiti.
REULT: In 100% of the 15 examined eye, indocyanine green angiography dicloed choroidal leion that were ubclinical, not detected by fundu examination or fluorecein angiography, in ix (40%) of 15 eye. Finding were claified into four main angiographic ign: (1) irregularly ditributed, hypofluorecent area in the early and intermediate phae of angiography that either became iofluorecent (type 1 hypofluorecence) or remained hypofluorecent (type 2 hypofluorecence) in the late phae; (2) numerou, mall, focal, hyperfluorecent pot; (3) choroidal veel that appeared fuzzy in the intermediate phae becaue of leakage, leading in the late phae to (4) diffue choroidal hyperfluorecence. Type 1 hypofluorecent leion, fuzzy choroidal veel, and diffue choroidal hyperfluorecence tended to regre after the initiation of antituberculou and corticoteroid treatment. Focal hyperfluorecence tended to be aociated with longtanding dieae.
CONCLUION: Indocyanine green angiography wa ueful in aeing and quantifying the a yet unknown extent of choroidal involvement in tuberculou poterior uveiti. It characteritic appearance may be a valuable contribution to the diagnoi and monitoring of treatment repone.
