Bilateral periopticointracleral hemorrhage aociated with traumatic child abue

Purpoe: To report a cae of bilateral periopticocleral hemorrhage aociated with traumatic child abue. Method: Potmortem gro examination and hitopathologic tudie of both eye and the optic nerve of a 6-month-old infant who died from ubdural hematoma. Reult: Gro examination and hitopathologic tep ection dicloed bilateral intracleral hemorrhage around both optic nerve. In addition, bilateral diffue multilayered retinal, vitreou, and ublaminar (beneath the internal limiting membrane) hemorrhage were preent. Concluion: Periopticointracleral hemorrhage are characteritic of blunt head trauma and may contitute important forenic evidence in cae of upected child abue.
