Bilateral rhegmatogenou retinal detachment with unilateral vitreou bae avulion a the preenting ign of child abue

Purpoe: To decribe a 7-year-old boy with bilateral rhegmatogenou retinal detachment and unilateral vitreou bae avulion a the preenting ign of child abue. Method: Cae report. Reult: Examination demontrated no external ign of trauma or ocular finding typically found in battered child yndrome; however, finding of rhegmatogenou retinal detachment and vitreou bae avulion raied the upicion of child abue, which wa confirmed with further hitory. A cleral buckle procedure and par plana vitrectomy with ilicone oil tamponade were performed in the right eye followed by a imilar procedure in the left eye 1 week later. Concluion: Vitreou bae avulion and rhegmatogenou retinal detachment may be the only preenting ign of child abue.
