Abstract :
PURPOE: Increaed erum immunoreactivity to retinal protein may have a role in the dieae proce of ome glaucoma patient. We decribe a patient with normal- preure glaucoma whoe erum immunoreactivity to retinal protein regreed after methotrexate treatment for rheumatoid dieae.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: In a 66-year-old white female with normal-preure glaucoma and rheumatoid dieae, equential Wetern blot uing patient era againt retinal protein demontrated a decreae in the immunoreactive band after treatment. During the treatment period of 3 year, her viual field appeared to have improved. Optic dik examination during the hort period without treatment, however, dicloed new, bilateral plinter hemorrhage on the optic dik.
CONCLUION: Thee obervation ugget a potential role for immune-baed intervention in imilar patient.
